The Russians tortured over 3,800,000 Ukrainian citizens

More than 2,200 Ukrainian prisoners of war were also tortured by the Russians.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that more than 450 criminal proceedings were registered on the fact of torture of prisoners of war by the occupiers and 2,100 on the fact of torture of Ukrainian citizens, Chroniclers reports.

“Currently, the Prosecutor General’s Office has registered more than 450 criminal proceedings on facts of ill-treatment and torture of prisoners of war and more than 2,100 on facts of torture of civilians. More than 3,800 civilians and more than 2,200 prisoners of war have been recognized as victims of torture and inhuman treatment,” the report said.

In addition, the Office reported on 160 Russian torture chambers discovered in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine.

“The mass of such crimes is also evidenced by the torture chambers found in the liberated territories. Prosecutors and investigators discovered more than 160 torture chambers and places of detention where the Russians held and tortured people. The largest number of such places were found in Chernihiv Region – 44, as well as Kharkiv Region – 25 and Zaporizhzhia Region – 18,” the report said.
