On the night of September 15, the Russians tried to strike the Khmelnytskyi region with Shahed-136/131 drones. The target was Ukrainian bombers carrying long-range Storm Shadow missiles
This was said by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat.
He hinted that the Russians wanted to hit the airfield or the base of the planes.
“Khmelnychchyna has been attacked again. It is clear what the Russian Federation is looking for. They are looking for where the commander hid our bombers after the recent events in our sea near Crimea,” he said.
The Russians also moved the time of the attack this time. But, according to Ignat, it even helped the Ukrainian military somewhat.
“They usually launch from 22:30-22:50. Then several waves until 04:00. The morning attack allows mobile fire groups to practice better. When it’s daylight, the target becomes visually visible,” the spokesman explained.
