The war destroyed almost all the museums of the Donetsk region

Of the 32 museums that operated in the Donetsk region before the full-scale invasion, 26 were damaged or completely destroyed. The exact condition of most of the institutions remains unknown – it is currently impossible to check this on the spot.

This was reported by the Anti-Crisis Media Center.

Among the affected facilities are institutions from various cities in the region: the administration of the state historical and architectural reserve in Sviatohirsk, local history museums in Bakhmut, Lyman, Mariupol, Sloviansk and Kostyantynivka, the historical and art museum in Druzhkivka, the Pokrovsky Historical Museum, as well as the Museum of the History of the City of Kramatorsk City Council.

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration noted that it is currently impossible to provide reliable information about the real condition of these institutions. A full inventory of damaged cultural institutions and immovable cultural heritage sites will be conducted only after the end of hostilities and only if the security situation allows it.
