The workshops of the enterprise in Mukachevo, where the Russians hit with missiles, are not subject to restoration

According to preliminary estimates, the workshops of the enterprise in Mukachevo, where the Russians hit with missiles on August 21, are not subject to restoration.

This was reported by the head of the Transcarpathian regional military administration, Myroslav Biletsky: “According to preliminary estimates, the buildings of the plant, which were hit (by Russian missiles – ed.) are not subject to restoration.”

Earlier, the deputy head of the Transcarpathian regional military administration, Vasyl Ivancho, reported that the Russian troops destroyed the enterprise in Mukachevo, which was one of the largest employers in Transcarpathia.

“Thousands of families depended on the operation of the plant, as almost 2,600 specialists worked here. In 2024, this production paid more than 340 million hryvnias in taxes, and in seven months of this year – more than 285 million hryvnias,” Ivancho said.

He added that American investments in the company amounted to about $24.5 million.

On August 21, at about 4:40 a.m., Russian troops launched a missile strike on the enterprise in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, causing a fire. According to the prosecutor’s office, the strike was carried out by two Caliber missiles. It took about 14 hours to localize the fire. It is currently being extinguished.

The regional military administration called on residents of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod districts to close their windows and not go outside unnecessarily, as there are many combustion products in the air that can be harmful to health.

Currently, 23 people are known to have been injured in the missile strike.
