On the night of June 2, the Russians launched a targeted strike on the State Emergency Service unit in Nikopol. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The shells damaged the rescuers’ building: windows were broken, walls and the entrance to the shelter where the employees of the State Emergency Service unit were at that moment were destroyed.
Two civilian men were injured in the first shelling. The rescuers promptly provided them with assistance and hid them in a shelter, waiting for the ambulance to arrive. However, it was at this moment that the Russians struck again – the driver of the emergency medical service was wounded.
Due to the threat of repeated attacks, the medics were forced to leave the scene on their own. The rescuers did not leave the wounded to their fate – they took them to the hospital by official transport.
Attacks on emergency services representatives who save lives are yet another evidence of war crimes by the Russian army against the civilian population.
The Russians struck two districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region: a shopping center and two private houses were damaged.
