In Lviv, at the scene of the tragedy after the nighttime Russian missile attack on July 6, the bodies of those killed in the rubble of an apartment building were found.
This was reported by the chairman of Lviv, Andriy Sadovoy.
Initially, three victims were known. According to him, the bodies of the victims were pulled out from under the rubble of the residential building.
Rescue operations are ongoing.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified later, as of seven in the morning, the number of dead had increased to 4 people.
“The search and rescue operation is ongoing. As of 7:00 a.m., 4 people were killed, 9 were injured. 7 people were rescued by the State Emergency Service, 64 were evacuated. Rescuers continue to clear the debris,” the ministry said in a statement.
As a result of Russian rocket fire, an apartment building was damaged – the 3rd and 4th floors in two entrances were destroyed.
Earlier, the chairman informed about 8 wounded citizens as a result of an enemy missile attack, later it became known about 9 people.
About 60 apartments and 50 cars were also damaged, Sadovyi said. He added that an operational headquarters is working on the spot.
“People are being prepared for resettlement,” the chairman informed.
Prior to that, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, emphasized that the army of the Russian Federation had targeted residential buildings during this air attack.
So, the official said, a Russian rocket hit an apartment building. After that, a fire broke out, which was promptly extinguished. Firefighters, medics, specialists of the State Emergency Service are working on the spot, and rescuers are sorting out the debris.
According to Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, a critical infrastructure object was damaged as a result of the Russian attack.
