There were 3 waves of strikes: details and consequences of the massive shelling of Kharkiv

Kharkiv experienced three waves of attacks that hit several districts, including Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Nemyshlyanskyi.

The attacks caused damage to infrastructure, including energy, and damage to residential buildings, but in most waves it was possible to avoid serious casualties.

Kharkiv has experienced three waves of Russian attacks since the night of March 16. Several districts of the city were under attack at once.

The first attack on Kharkiv took place at night, at about 3:00. The Kyivskyi district was under attack. And 5-7 minutes after the first strike, the second one sounded. Similarly, during the morning attack, after the first strike at 9:00, the next one occurred 7-10 minutes later.

The Russians are making repeated attacks – so that emergency services, law enforcement officers, rescuers, and volunteers can reach the site of the hit and be hit again. Fortunately, this time there were no serious injuries. At least during the two waves of attacks – the night and morning ones.

In the morning, the Russians launched two drones into the Shevchenko district, and the road surface was damaged as a result of the hits. A new residential building was also destroyed, with approximately 70 windows broken. Power is already being restored on site.

One person was injured – he suffered an acute stress reaction. The second strike was carried out at a targeted rate on the road, where cars and public transport were passing at that time. Fortunately, miraculously, no one was seriously injured, – explained Bohdan Gladkikh, director of the Emergency Situations Department of the Kharkiv City Council.

Shortly after the second wave of attacks, a third one occurred. Several drones were circling over the city in the Nemyshlyanskyi district. It was there that a strike was made on a civilian enterprise. According to preliminary information, three people were injured. The enterprise’s warehouses and a fence were also hit.

According to the chairman, during three waves, there were attempts by the Russians to strike energy facilities and critical infrastructure.

In Kharkiv on March 15, it was reported that the intervals between trains in the metro were increased. This is due to a shortage of electricity in the city.

Russia continues to try to strike at energy infrastructure, which leads to further damage. At the same time, energy workers are making every effort to restore energy facilities as quickly as possible.

In Dergachiv district, in Kozacha Lopan, on March 15, the Russians struck a private sector with an FPV drone. Two people died as a result of the attack.

Also in Kupyansk-Vuzlovye, a 73-year-old woman died due to artillery shelling.

On the morning of March 16, in addition to Kharkiv, the Russians also shelled Kupyansk, Chuguiv, and Zolochiv regions. In particular, the Chuguiv-Milove highway was hit by drones. A 48-year-old woman was injured there.
