Ethnic minorities of Russia are actively settling in the temporarily occupied Mariupol. Despite the significant number of these people, they rapidly self-destruct in constant fights.
Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the chairman of Mariupol, told about the situation with the “small peoples of Russia” in the Ukrainian city and how they behave in the new place.
“This trend is not abating. Today we can say that approximately 55,000 Russian civilians are in the city,” Andryushchenko noted.
According to him, inscriptions in Arabic on markets and women in burqas have already become normal phenomena in Mariupol. There are more and more people from the Asian part of Russia – Chechens, Dagestanis and others.
What is the goal of the Russian Federation?
By populating an occupied Ukrainian city with its ethnic minorities, Russia solves two problems at once. Russia is getting rid of “undesirable elements” on its territory and at the same time evicting Ukrainians from the occupied territory. This method was used at one time by the Russian Empire and the USSR.
However, the influx of “small peoples of Russia” in Mariupol is quite unstable. Representatives of minorities are actively self-destructing, and no one is stopping them.
“They cut themselves short: there are constant fights and scandals. Ethnic conflicts have blossomed in Mariupol, given the absolute impunity, the absolute non-interference of the “authorities”, Andryushchenko added. The situation in Mariupol: the latest news In the occupied city, a fifth of the inhabitants – about 100,000 people – remained. They live under constant pressure and the risk of losing what remains of their property. Explosions continue in Mariupol – the last one happened on September 7. Then it was loud in the area of the destroyed shopping center “Port City” and the concrete mini-factory.
Russian troops are afraid of the offensive of the Armed Forces and are trying to strengthen themselves in Mariupol. In particular, the Russians bury damaged equipment in order to use it exclusively as a firing point.
