The Russian authorities of the Zaporizhia region announced the “liquidation of two terrorists” in Berdyansk. One of them is 16-year-old Tigran Hovhannesyan.

This was reported by Vladyslav Rogov, a Gauleiter in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to him, at approximately 19:00, two people “opened fire with automatic weapons” on the city embankment.

“As a result of coordinated and operative actions of law enforcement agencies, the terrorists were blocked and destroyed,” said Rogov.

He said that one of them is Tigran Hovhannesyan, a 16-year-old teenager who was previously detained by the occupiers for his pro-Ukrainian position. A video showing Tigran is also circulating in local Telegram channels. He holds a machine gun in his hands and says: “That’s all, it’s death, guys. Farewell. Glory to Ukraine”. In the video, the voice of the second guy is also heard, who answers: “Glory to the heroes.”

Under the video message, it is noted that the boys managed to shoot the occupier and kill a local policeman before they died.

What is known about Tigran Hovhannesyan

In September 2022, the occupiers kidnapped Tigran and his friend Nikita Khanganov, and accused them of terrorism. According to the Media Initiative for Human Rights, they were interrogated, beaten and tortured with electric current.

In June 2023, the Eurodepartment demanded that the authorities of the Russian Federation release the boys and allow them to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The situation in Berdyansk

The Russians occupied Berdyansk at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and since then have been actively using it as a base. In recent weeks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to advance in the Berdyansk direction, so the occupiers increased their defense efforts there.
