Three-month-old girl and one-year-old boy injured in attack in Mykolaiv region

On October 8, around 12:00, Russian forces launched a drone strike on a residential area in the Shevchenkove community of the Mykolaiv region. A residential house was hit, injuring two small children—a three-month-old girl and a one-year-old boy.

A Russian “Molniya”-type drone struck a private home in the village of Novokyivka, Mykolaiv region, on the afternoon of October 8. A family with small children was inside the house at the time of the strike.

The explosion injured the three-month-old girl and the one-year-old boy. Both children were urgently hospitalized.

Medical personnel are providing all necessary care, and the victims’ condition is assessed as satisfactory.

The Russian drone strike also damaged civilian infrastructure; specifically, two private houses and a garage were damaged, and a passenger car was destroyed.

Specialized services are working at the scene in the Mykolaiv region to address the aftermath of the attack and document the Russian army’s war crime against the civilian population.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a Russian FPV drone struck a commuter minibus in a village within the Halytsynove community around 10:00. The 66-year-old driver was injured in the attack.
