Three people were injured by the Russian army in Sumy Region

On April 23, the Russian army attacked a residential quarter in the center of the city of Bilopil, in the Sumy region, and the Shalyginsk community from the Grads. It is known about three wounded.

This was reported by the head of the Bilopol community Yuriy Zarko: “It is known about 6 hits in the center of the city. They were hit with a Grad rocket launcher. There is a wounded man. He is about 40 years old. He is in a hospital in Bilopil, his condition is of medium severity, he has shrapnel wounds. When there was an explosion, he tried to hide and the debris injured his shoulders, back, hips, and legs.”

Around 1:00 p.m., the Russians attacked the civil infrastructure of the Shalygin community of Shostkinsky district with artillery. As a result of the attack, two private households were damaged. Two women, aged 72 and 45, were injured and hospitalized.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, occupying part of the Sumy region. At the beginning of April 2022, the northern regions of Ukraine, in particular the Sumy region, were liberated from Russian troops, but the Russian army regularly fires at the region from Russian territory.

In February – March 2024, the Russians significantly increased the intensity of strikes in the region. Since the beginning of March, the Russians have dropped almost 200 guided aerial bombs on the Sumy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on March 19. After that, there were new attacks by the Russian Federation.
