As a result of the large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on the night of September 3, animal shelters in the Khmelnytskyi and Kirovohrad regions were damaged.
This was reported by the animal protection organization UAnimals.
These are the shelters “Abandoned Angel” in the Khmelnytskyi region and “Give me a paw” in Znamenka, Kirovohrad region.
The first shelter was hit by rocket fragments. A surveillance camera recorded the moment of impact on video. The animals are very scared, some of them climbed onto the bars of the enclosures during the shelling.
“Today’s night and morning for our shelter became a complete hell. Explosions after explosions. Dogs are in terrible stress. Some injured themselves trying to escape from the enclosures, but not critically,” they said on the “Abandoned Angel” page.
It was also a tough night for the “Give Me a Paw” shelter in Znamenka. One dog there died from stress, the rest were also scared.
