Ukrainians in the occupied territories will be deprived of the right to reside without Russian passports

In the temporarily occupied territories, in 2025, the Russian military plans to deprive Ukrainians who do not have citizenship of the Russian Federation of the right to reside. These people will be restricted in a number of social rights. This was reported by the Center for National Resistance.

“As early as January 2025, the Russian military intends to deprive the right to reside of “stateless persons in the temporarily occupied territories”,” the Center for National Resistance reported.

It is noted that these “persons” are local residents whom the occupiers make “illegal migrants” in their native homes. After changing the status of Ukrainians, their rights to medical care, work and social benefits will be restricted.

“Currently, employees of the Russian occupation administrations are informing all controlled enterprises about the mandatory passportization of workers and are threatening dismissal in case of refusal,” the report says.

From December, the “passports” of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”, which the Russian military has been forcing residents of the temporarily occupied Donbas to obtain since 2014, will become invalid. The Russian Federation plans to carry out maximum passportization in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
