Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has written a letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, in which he initiated the review and lifting of sanctions against Russian energy.
“Due to the Ukrainian oil blockade and the war in the Middle East, the price of crude oil has started to rise explosively in Hungary as well. In this situation, the Ukrainian oil blockade imposed by Zelensky poses the most serious possible threat not only to Hungary and Slovakia, but also to the entire European Union. To prevent this danger, two solutions are needed. Across Europe, we must review and suspend all sanctions imposed on Russian energy. Today, I initiated this in a letter to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen,” Orban said.
In addition, he announced that the government is working to maintain the price level for diesel and gasoline.
