Wagons, houses, a motel were damaged: the regional military administration answered whether the station in Kherson would be restored

The Russians’ brutal attack on Kherson on December 26 fell on the railway station. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded.

The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, spoke about the condition of the injured as a result of the shelling of the station in Kherson. According to him, many civilian buildings were damaged due to the attack.

Oleksandr Prokudin listed an impressive list of buildings that were hit by shelling. Wagons, three private houses, the territory of the base, a motel, and a store were damaged. The destruction of the station itself is serious: there is not a single surviving window, the walls and roof are partially destroyed. Primary restoration work is ongoing in the station premises. It will be possible to talk about full reconstruction only after the shelling stops, but it is working. Passengers can wait for the arrival of their trains in the shelter, – said the head of the regional military administration.

As a result of the Russian shelling, the building of the Kherson railway station was literally cut into pieces, the floor is full of glass.

“A 52-year-old man is in a serious condition in the hospital, he has an explosive injury, traumatic shock and a shoulder wound, a 30-year-old man from Kherson was injured in the lower limb, he is now in the hospital, his condition is of medium severity,” Prokudin said.

The deceased law enforcement officer Ihor Misyunya was mortally wounded while evacuating civilians. He was a police lieutenant from Kirovohrad region. The 29-year-old had a wife and two children who were left without a father.

Two of his colleagues, policemen from the Kherson region, were injured. They are 34 and 38 years old.

About 120 people who were waiting for the train at the time of the impact at the Kherson railway station were able to reach their destinations. “We promptly provided buses that brought them to Mykolaiv, four additional wagons were hitched there, people were accommodated, and the train was on schedule in the capital,” said the head of the regional military administration.
