Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia on the night of August 22, residential buildings were damaged. This was announced by the secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Anatoly Kurtev. According to him, the blast wave damaged four apartment buildings. He emphasized that there are no injured people. All services are working on the spot, and a tent to help the residents has been deployed. Utility workers began to cover the windows.

On the night of August 22, as a result of Russian shelling, a fire broke out at one of Zaporozhye’s enterprises. There are no casualties.

At night, two missile strikes were carried out on the outskirts of the regional center, in addition, there was an attack by three UAVs. According to Acting Chairman Kurtev, four multi-story buildings were damaged as a result of the blast wave. There are no casualties.

According to the State Emergency Service, 14 cars caught fire, including 4 trucks, as well as packaging containers on the site. The area of the fire was 200 square meters.

“There was a threat of the fire spreading to a larger area. Firefighters promptly put out the fire,” the State Emergency Service said in a statement.

27 rescuers and six fire engines worked on the spot.

On August 21, the Russians shelled 30 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to preliminary data, the Russians carried out 96 strikes on the territory of the region from various types of weapons:

83 artillery shells on the territory of Zaliznychny, Levadny, Poltavka, Olhivskyi, Preobrazhenka, Zatyshshi, Luhivskyi, Kamianskyi, Stepovoy and Pavlivka;

3 shellings with anti-aircraft missiles on Novodarivka and Lukyanivka;

2 air strikes on Novodanilivka;

3 UAV attacks on Novodarivka and Stepnohirsk.

A 51-year-old resident of Preobrazhenka was killed as a result of artillery shelling. A 43-year-old man was also injured and was taken to the hospital.

“31 reports were received about the destruction of infrastructure facilities, residential buildings and other property of citizens,” the regional military administration added.

A total of 96 rescuers and 24 pieces of equipment were involved from the State Emergency Service for humanitarian demining, fire suppression and assistance.

The units of the State Emergency Service are on high alert and in the territories where the fighting continues, after the end of the artillery fire, they are involved in the liquidation of the consequences of emergency events.
